I joined Ropes & Gray in the summer of 2006 as an associate in the Investment Management practice group. I joined the firm laterally from another law firm because I was moving across the country from New York and wanted to join a firm with a strong investment management practice, and I have been impressed by the depth of knowledge and expertise the firm has in this area.

My work mostly involves helping mutual funds and private funds such as hedge funds operate within their respective regulatory frameworks. For my mutual fund clients, this includes preparing their prospectuses and related disclosure documents to shareholders, drafting documents needed for board meetings, and counseling clients on day-to-day regulatory compliance matters. For my hedge fund and other private fund clients, my work includes forming hedge funds, negotiating and drafting derivatives agreements, and revising fund documentation.

I graduated from the University of Missouri in 2000 with a B.J. in Journalism. Prior to law school, I worked for two years as a copy editor at USA Today and USAToday.com. I received my J.D. from Columbia University in 2005. I worked at a large New York law firm between 2005 and 2006 before joining Ropes & Gray in July 2006.

In my free time I enjoy tennis, basketball, and reading.
