I joined Ropes & Gray’s Boston office in 2005 as an associate in the Litigation Department. I have been fortunate to work on a number of matters that have offered me a variety of experiences.

Recently, I worked with a small team of Ropes & Gray litigators representing two large private equity firms in an appraisal action in the Delaware Chancery Court. The action was brought by a shareholder of a company in which our clients invested through a recapitalization. I conducted legal research, drafted pleadings and briefs, communicated with opposing counsel, managed a large document production on an expedited schedule, prepared witnesses for depositions, and participated in client meetings and settlement negotiations. I have also had several opportunities to participate in pro bono work, including the pro bono representation of several asylum clients. For a client fleeing political persecution in Uganda, I filed an affirmative asylum application and helped prepare him for his asylum interview. For a client who was denied asylum in immigration court, I worked with other Ropes & Gray associates to draft and file appeals in the Board of Immigration Appeals and the First Circuit Court of Appeals, communicated with government officials, and worked to get the client released from detention.

I studied Anthropology and Biology at Washington University in St. Louis. After earning a B.A. in 2001, I moved to Massachusetts and worked in museum education. I returned to Washington University School of Law and graduated with my J.D. in 2005. During law school, I served as a court advocate for victims of domestic violence and a big sister for Big Brothers Big Sisters. I was also involved in two clinics during law school, one in which I clerked for the Missouri Public Defender’s Office and the other in which I served as a legal fellow to a U.S. Senator in Washington, D.C.

New England affords endless weekend trips to the beach, the mountains, and neighboring cities and towns; I love to get out of Boston to explore. In addition, I spend much of my spare time attending Boston sports events, trying new recipes, and tackling unrealistic home repair projects.
