I joined Ropes & Gray in the fall of 2005 and am an associate practicing in the Litigation Department. After graduating from Yale University in 2001 with a B.A. in History, I enrolled at New York University School of Law, where I received my J.D. in 2004. During law school, I spent a significant portion of my time working at NYU’s Office of Legal Counsel, taking part in a clinic at the civil division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York, and serving as a volunteer mediator at small claims court in lower Manhattan. After graduating from NYU, I returned home for a year and clerked for the Honorable Mary M. Lisi of the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island.
Like many attorneys at Ropes, I have taken advantage of the opportunity to work in more than on of the firm's offices. While I was a summer associate in the firm's Boston office, I decided to work in New York once I finished my clerkship. This change in location has had little effect on my practice, as I regularly work with attorneys from several of the firm’s offices. During my time at Ropes, I have represented a diverse set of clients, including insurance companies, health care organizations, private equity firms, a national discount retailer, and a sporting goods manufacturer.
Whether working with a large team of attorneys on a billion dollar litigation or directly with a partner on a smaller matter, I have always been impressed with the amount of responsibility delegated to me and other associates in the litigation department. In fact, during my time at Ropes, I have managed cases, appeared in court, engaged in numerous conversations with opposing counsel and clients, drafted dispositive motions, and had a hand in pretty much every aspect of civil and criminal litigation.
Outside of work, I spend most of my time enjoying the city’s great restaurants, parks, and concert venues. I also spend most Sundays in the fall and winter seeking places to watch the many New England Patriots games not televised on New York stations.
