I was an associate at Fish & Neave since 1997, joined Ropes & Gray as counsel when the two firms merged in 2005, and am now a partner in Ropes & Gray's Intellectual Property Group.
I received my B.S. in biochemistry from UCLA in 1992 and then worked for two years as a sales rep for Merck. I received my J.D. from USC in 1997. During law school, I was a Senior Notes Editor for the Interdisciplinary Law Journal and taught high school students as part of USC’s Street Law Program. During the summer after my first year, I received a PILF grant to work for the environmental crimes division of the Alameda County D.A.’s office. My work there focused on lead abatement cases in lower income housing. During my final year at USC, I externed for The Honorable Stephen V. Wilson in Los Angeles.
I was a summer associate with the New York office of Fish & Neave after my second year of law school and joined that office as a full-time associate in the fall of 1997. My work at Ropes & Gray continues to be primarily in patent litigation. I have worked on patent cases involving a variety of technological fields such as pharmaceuticals, herbicides, medical devices, telephonic calling systems, and semiconductor devices, to name a few. In addition to patent litigation, I have also worked on IP due diligence matters, opinions of counsel, as well as trademark and antitrust litigation. The benefits of practicing here include the variety of work and the resources that are available to us.
