I joined Ropes & Gray in 2004 as a lateral from another firm in Boston. I am a senior associate in the firm's Intellectual Property Group. My clients include small biotech companies and large pharmaceutical companies. My practice is multidisciplinary combining aspects of patent prosecution, regulatory practice, transactions, due diligence, opinions, and litigation. I do a mixture of work including developing and managing worldwide patent portfolios and counseling clients on issues relating to portfolio strategy, including providing patentability, invalidity, non-infringement, and freedom-to-operate opinions. I also am involved in several patent litigations and frequently conduct IP due diligence associated with corporate transactions.

I grew up in Michigan just outside of Ann Arbor. I graduated from Mount Holyoke college in 1991 with a degree in Biochemistry and a minor in Art History. I then attended Yale University where I received my Ph.D. from the Department of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry, and later went to law school at Boston University. In my free time, I enjoy reading books, watching movies, hiking and hanging out with my dog Cooper.
