I joined Ropes & Gray in the fall of 2004 as an associate working primarily on real estate matters. I graduated from Middlebury College in 1999 with a B.A. in Economics and Political Science, and then worked for a couple of years as a paralegal here in Boston before entering law school. I received my J.D. from Cornell Law School in 2004, and spent the summer between my first two years of law school as a clerk for the Honorable Thomas J. McAvoy at the U.S. District Court in Binghamton, New York.
As a fourth year associate, I have been able to work on many different types of real estate matters, including the representation of a national real estate investment and development company in its acquisition, financing, permitting and redevelopment of commercial properties in Massachusetts, assisting an energy company in connection with its ongoing environmental cleanup efforts in negotiations with landowners and remedy implementation, negotiating for two office leases in Connecticut for a technology company, along with the termination of the company's existing lease, and, most recently, advising a Massachusetts municipality in connection with a major redevelopment project in the city's downtown area.
Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, running, cross-country skiing, golfing, and generally spending time outdoors with my wife and three children.
