I joined Ropes & Gray over thirteen years ago, and am a partner in the Corporate Department in the Washington, D.C. office. My interest in financial services and prior work experience in the industry led me to work with the firm’s nationally recognized Investment Management Practice Group. I focus on regulatory and transactional matters, including the representation of investment companies, their independent directors, and investment advisers.

Practicing at Ropes has enabled me to work on a broad range of matters with a diverse client base. I have recently been involved with launching offshore funds for Japanese investors, conducting an on-site conflicts review for a large investment adviser, and negotiating the merger and acquisition of an investment company. On a daily basis, I spend most of my time counseling advisory and mutual fund clients and board members on regulatory and business matters. I have at least weekly contact with many of our clients, which has enabled me to develop relationships with these clients and fully understand and appreciate their business objectives.

I graduated from the Boston University School of Law in 1995, and joined Ropes & Gray in 1997 after spending two years at another law firm.  What drew me to Ropes & Gray, and what I still believe sets Ropes apart, is its collegial and supportive environment, challenging work, and talented lawyers.

In my free time, I love to travel to exotic places. Over the past few years I have been lucky enough to visit India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Argentina, South Africa, and the Galapagos Islands.
