I originally joined Ropes & Gray in the Boston office in 2003, after having participated in the Summer Associate Program. I then transferred to the New York office in 2007. I originally joined Ropes & Gray because of the combination of exceptionally talented attorneys who also genuinely enjoyed and appreciated the law and the legal profession. In the years since I made that decision those qualities of Ropes & Gray remain true. I feel very fortunate to have Ropes & Gray lawyers as my colleagues on a daily basis. Since joining Ropes & Gray in 2003 I have been able to participate in a wide variety of different matters in both the Corporate and the Investment Management and Private Equity Groups. In the Private Equity Group, I participated in a variety of capacities, including both the acquisition and the negotiation of the necessary financing for purchases of companies ranging from a concrete manufacturer to an educational software provider to a food chain. Since deciding to focus in the Investment Management Group, I have worked on a daily basis with clients in establishing mutual funds, hedge funds, private equity funds and fund of funds and helping fund clients and their investment advisers in addressing day-to-day operational and regulatory concerns. I have also worked on fund mergers and reorganizations, dissolutions and a variety of other transactions. In addition, I work closely with a number of foreign counsel to address particular concerns that clients may have regarding private placement, investment advisory issues, and securities laws around the world. In 1999 I received my undergraduate degree in Environmental Science and Public Policy from Harvard College. I then spent a year at an internet startup before earning my J.D. from Boston College Law School in 2003. While at BC I served as Editor in Chief of the Boston College Law Review and President of the International Law Society. Prior to college, I lived overseas in Norway, Indonesia and various countries in the Middle East.
