I’m a partner in the Litigation Department.  I joined Ropes & Gray in 2003, as a result of its combination with my former firm, Reboul, MacMurray, Hewitt & Maynard.

My practice is fairly wide-ranging, including defense of securities law and fiduciary duty lawsuits, class actions under federal and state law, and representation of private equity clients, in Delaware and elsewhere, defending claims relating to various transactions.

I also spend significant time working with the Firm’s corporate attorneys, as part of the cross-disciplinary teams that handle transaction work for clients. Litigators can bring useful perspective to such matters, having seen from the case law where issues can arise. The pace of the deals can be very fast indeed, requiring answers to major questions on a real-time basis.

I’m a native New Yorker, born in Brooklyn. After graduating from Union College in 1973, I worked for a few years, then attended Harvard Law School. After graduation, I clerked for Hon. John F. Dooling, Jr., a United States District Judge in Brooklyn. I have been a litigator ever since, first with Reboul, MacMurray and now with Ropes & Gray.

My wife and I live on the Upper West Side of Manhattan (by far the best neighborhood for running, with good access to Central and Riverside Parks).
