I am a seventh-year associate in the Litigation Department of the firm’s Washington office. I practice primarily in the Government Enforcement group, handling criminal and civil matters. I was a summer associate in the Washington office in 2001. I am a DC native, and in my spare time I enjoy the beach, sports, playing bridge, and exploring this wonderful city. I took my undergraduate degree in philosophy at Yale, and I received my law degree from UVA Law.

I have had an incredible experience at Ropes. In the last year I was the primary author of a successful petition for certiorari to the United States Supreme Court in a criminal case on the principal author of the related merits of brief, and sat second chair at counsel table during the argument. My other matters include a wide variety of criminal and civil matters relating to issues like internet gambling, First Amendment rights, and Indian coal royalties. I also handle a pro bono case seeking information about mass graves in Afghanistan on behalf of the nonprofit human-rights organization.
