As a partner since 1993, I have had extensive experience in many areas of the life sciences, technology and health industry practice, including technology acquisition, transfer and licensing; mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic partnerships; and research and development arrangements.

My recent technology projects include:

- Representing a major biotech company in a collaboration with an academic consortium (made up of Harvard, MIT, and the Whitehead Institute) to discover and advance new therapeutic solutions for malaria.

- Negotiating numerous technology licenses between universities and early-stage companies, in some transactions representing the university and in other transactions the company.

- Working on licensing and collaboration agreements for pharmaceutical companies.

- Negotiating research, development, manufacture, supply and license agreements for medical device and biotechnology companies, including agreements for the core technology of a venture-funded medical device company pioneering an alternative to coronary bypass surgery.

- Representing academic medical centers in negotiating enterprise-wide technology acquisition and implementation contracts with major vendors, including representation of a client transforming its operations to a digital radiology system.

- Assisting a non-profit grant-making foundation in establishing its intellectual property policies.

Soon after joining Ropes & Gray in 1985, I became actively involved in the firm's hiring program, serving on the firm's hiring group since 2001, and acting as the firm's Hiring Partner beginning in 2006. I also served as co-chair of the firm's Women's Forum, which sponsors events of personal and professional interest to women lawyers in the firm. I am married and have two daughters who keep life continually interesting.

I am a graduate of Williams College and Harvard Law School. I clerked for a federal district court judge in Philadelphia upon graduation from law school.
