I joined Ropes & Gray in 2007 as an associate in the Tax & Benefits Department. Since starting at the firm, I have worked on a variety of matters involving drafting private letter ruling requests and disclosure for SEC filings, researching international and nonprofit tax issues, and analyzing the tax treatment of financial products. I was initially attracted to Ropes & Gray due to its strong tax-exempt practice, and have been able to work with a variety of nonprofit clients, in addition to exploring other areas of tax practice. I have also been involved in several pro bono matters involving transactional issues such as incorporation, application for 501(c)(3) status, and dissolution.
I grew up in Hawaii, but moved to the mainland to attend Swarthmore College. I graduated from Swarthmore in 2003 with a B.A. in Art and Economics. After college, I moved to London where I worked at the Royal Institute for British Architects and International Planned Parenthood Federation and spent a great deal of time exploring the U.K. and Europe. I received my J.D. in 2007 from Harvard Law School, where I worked at the Art Law Clinic, served on the Board of Student Advisors, and researched for Prof. Marion Fremont-Smith.
In my free time I love to cook, visit New York's many museums and galleries, and attend performances at the Metropolitan Opera.
