I joined Ropes & Gray in 2007 as an associate in the Litigation Department. While I was obviously impressed by Ropes’ reputation, I chose the firm primarily because of the people. When the interview process was over, I realized that I had met one-on-one or two-on-one with 24 people, all of whom I clicked with and was excited to work with. Since arriving at Ropes, I continue to find working alongside the other attorneys here as well as the support staff to be the best part of my job.

I work primarily on complex business litigation matters, including data privacy issues and financial and security matters, as well as e-discovery. I spent most of my first year at Ropes working on a matter involving a client’s investment in bonds backed by subprime mortgages that consisted of over a dozen indivudal lawsuits and four regulatory investigations. In the past year, I have been more focused on data security and privacy law and defense of clients who have experienced data breaches. Perhaps my favorite thing about my job is that each case brings with it new intellectual challenges. When I started at Ropes, I couldn’t even figure out my 401K; now I speak about complicated bond trading concepts as if they were Red Sox statistics.

I graduated from Tufts University in 2003 and spent a year working on John Kerry’s presidential campaign. I attended law school at Columbia University, where I was an articles editor on the Columbia Law Review and executive board member of the De Vinimus Wine Society.

In my free time (which I swear, I have), I enjoy rooting for the Red Sox and Patriots, cycling, cooking, and spending time with my dog, Beckett.
