I joined Ropes & Gray's litigation department as an associate in the fall of 2006, after clerking for Judge F. Dennis Saylor, IV, in the District of Massachusetts. I have spent the majority of my time so far working in the government enforcement practice group. Some recent projects include representing an individual facing criminal fraud charges relating to a major federal and state construction project; investigating alleged false claims for payment by a major defense contractor; and investing alleged “off-label” promotion of certain products from a medical-device manufacturer.
I have been impressed with the level of responsibility Ropes & Gray gives to its young associates—it is one of the reasons I joined the firm. Within my first year, I had drafted motions, worked one-on-one with clients, interviewed witnesses, and been involved in strategy decisions in several cases.
I graduated from Yale University in 1999 with a B.A. in Ethics, Politics and Economics. Before law school, I worked as a research assistant at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, and wrote for the Miami Herald and U.S. News & World Report. I received my J.D. from Yale in 2005. Throughout law school I worked in a clinic representing New Haven residents facing eviction. I also served as the Comments Editor of the Yale Law Journal and as a teaching assistant for a first year contracts class. I spent my law school summers interning in the Appellate Division of the Boston U.S. Attorney's Office and at Ropes & Gray.
When I'm not at work, I enjoy hiking, taking pictures, and spending time with my wife.
